The clinic supports the local 25 bed aged care facility on an as-needs basis, as well as a 7 bed acute ward and 2 bed Urgent Care Centre at the hospital.
GP involvement with hospital and aged care services, including separate on-call arrangements, is open to negotiation with interested GPs.
Participation in the management of hospital patients also attracts a modern 4-bedroom partially furnished house located on the edge of Lake Boort and a vehicle allowance.
Boort is known as The Northern Oasis, located in the north of country Victoria where the Loddon River meanders to the Murray, is a wide, flat valley dotted with wetlands and red gum-encircled lakes. Boort is 252 km north-west of Melbourne and within a 110 km radius of Echuca, Bendigo and Swan Hill. It is in the Mallee region, a small town on the shores of Lake Boort where swans, ibis, pelicans and other birds can be observed. Boort and the surrounding community population is approximately 1600. The lake is central to the town and is used for water sports including skiing, sailing, duck hunting, fishing and swimming.
